Sun Mi Yoo
President

Sun Mi Yoo serves as the Program Manager for Global Medical Knowledge. She oversees and manages all staff and ongoing projects at GMK. She also works on strategy and business development for the organization. She is currently a M.D. Candidate at Harvard Medical School and is being sponsored by the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She received her S.B. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served on the leadership boards of various health policy and medical organizations on campus. Prior to GMK, she served as a lab manager for a neurolinguistics laboratory at M.I.T., was the head TA for a program for MIT students from underrepresented backgrounds, and conducted angiogenesis cancer research at the Children's Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical School. Her interests lie at the intersection of international health policy, technology, and cancer.

Anna Andersen
Program Coordinator

Anna Andersen is Project Coordinator at Global Medical Knowledge. Her primary focus is recruiting and managing a group of volunteer staff as well as coordinating ongoing projects. Prior to joining GMK she worked as Head of e-Publishing for an IT company in the UK. She has experience in running online community sites as well as peer reviewed journals. Anna has a Masters in Politics and Contemporary History from the University of Nottingham.

Lisa Tse
Research & Development Intern

Lisa is a Research and Development Intern at GMK. Her primary focuses are performing benchmarking research, assessing the current e-learning needs of faculty and students of Malawi College of Medicine, and acting as a student liaison. Her interests in improving access to quality healthcare on the global level, promoting preventative measures, and improving health outcomes through education led to her to GMK. In addition to working with GMK, she volunteers at a local free clinic, teaches ESL, and is involved in several community service and outreach organizations to promote the attainment of higher education among local youths. Lisa is an undergraduate at Tufts University majoring in International Relations and Public Health.

Trent Ostler
Technical Consultant

Trent Ostler is currently a J.D. Candidate at Franklin Pierce NH and previous served as a bioinformatics specialist in the Gygi lab at Harvard Medical School. He graduated from Brigham Young University with degrees in Bioinformatics and Russian. Trent is interested in the internet, and the role of technology in driving useful innovations for society. Some of his hobbies include camping, running, swing dancing, and blogging.

Katie Alijewicz
Marketing Intern

Katie Alijewicz is a summer marketing intern at Global Medical Knowledge. Her primary focus is establishing a marketing plan by seeking non-profit directories for GMK, as well as fundraising and grant opportunities. Katie has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University.

Nick Hong
Web Developer

Nicholas Hong is the Web Developer at Global Medical Knowledge. He focuses on developing and maintaining this website and on strategy/business plan development. An undergraduate at MIT studying Management Science and Biology, his interest in healthcare management and international development led him to GMK, where he is a 2009 Summer Fellow through New Sector Alliance, a Boston-based nonprofit consulting firm. Before joining GMK, Nick has worked with IT operations at St.Luke's Episcopal Hospital Network in Houston, TX, as well as with Cataldo Ambulance Services as an EMT-Basic.

Julia Gall
Web Designer

Julia Gall attends Wellesley College, where she is majoring in psychology and neuroscience. She currently works at MIT's Brain & Cognitive Science department, and is also a Wellesley Centers for Women research assistant at Wellesley. Julia also works as a swim instructor and as a freelance graphic artist. Her areas of interest include human behavior, art, languages, web design.

Former GMK Fellows

Kristen Lynch

Kristen Lynch (2007) graduated from Harvard College in June 2007 with an honors degree in History and Science and a certificate in Health Policy. In 2006, she spent five months in Kenya and Tanzania conducting HIV/AIDS anthropology research with girls aged 10-16. While in East Africa, Kristen initiated a traveling voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) program, conducted thesis research, and picked up Swahili. At Harvard, Kristen was an All-American Athlete and member of the Varsity Sailing Team. She also plays bassoon, and has performed concerts in facilities around the world. Her other hobbies include skiing, cooking, and backpacking.

Jeremy Greenberg

Jeremy Greenberg (2007) received his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 and currently works at Boston Consulting Group. At Wharton, he was a project manager for Wharton Community Consultants and served as a visiting board member for The Enterprise Center, a nonprofit organization that promotes minority entrepreneurship. Jeremy also participated in Penn's annual Philly Fight Night charity boxing event where he learned that boxing is not his forte. He will join The Boston Consulting Group’s New York office in July 2007 as a management consultant. Prior to business school, Jeremy worked for Capital One Financial for six years where he developed and managed a new installment lending business unit. He graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy. Jeremy enjoys oil painting, running, poker and basketball.

Stephanie Koh
Summer Fellow

Stephanie Koh is an undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Anthropology. Her interests in social justice and capacity building led her to GMK, where she is a 2008 Summer Fellow through New Sector Alliance, a Boston-based nonprofit consulting firm. Since starting college, Steph has studied abroad in Eastern Europe/Central Asia, worked at a human rights nonprofit organization, and led various community service initiatives on campus. Other hobbies of hers include international travel, reading, and dancing the Argentine tango. She is spending her junior year studying abroad in London.
